Megaworld Corp. has been integrating museums in their projects in a bid to promote tourism, making the developer leave a distinct mark in real estate in the Philippines.

For their township development Mactan Newtown, Megaworld will be putting up the Mactan World Museum. With the development located about 500 meters away for the Lapu-lapu Shrine, the concept is only fitting geographically and historically. Set to open in 2021, the 2,000-square-meter space will showcase the events that led to the historic Battle of Mactan, according to a Cebu Daily News report.

Megaworld has been put historical and cultural touches to its development in Binondo and Iloilo. Last June, they unveiled the Chinatown Museum inside the Lucky Chinatown Mall. In 2018, they also opened the Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art (ILOMOCA) inside Iloilo Business Park, another Megaworld development.
