Environment-friendly buildings are changing the landscape of real estate in the Philippines. At the forefront of this trend is ArthaLand. At the heels of opening Century Pacific Tower in Bonifacio Global City, the green developer is currently constructing Cebu Exchange in Salinas Drive, Cebu City.
The Philippine Star reports that Cebu Exchange is foreseen to be the biggest single-tower green office development in the Philippines. It will also be the biggest office development in Cebu IT Park. It is expected to respond to demand for office space in the area, where vacant office spaces are at 1%.
Once complete, this commercial project will be composed of 39 stories with 332 units. It is set for turnover in the second quarter of 2022. The building will have a number of cutting-edge features like a smart building management system, sophisticated fire detection and alarm system, fiber optic pathways, and high-speed elevators. Its sustainable features include a water recycling system, low-voltage lighting, and water-saving plumbing systems, to name a few.
The Cebu Exchange has been recognized by award-giving bodies for its sustainable design. It was named the winner of the Best Office Development in Cebu and in the Philippines, Best Office Architectural Design, and Best BPO Office Development by Kohler. It also received the Highly Commended Green Project of the Year by Lamudi.
The building is registered under the U.S. and Philippine Green Building Councils, and is pre-certified for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED). It is on track for certification under the Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence (BERDE).
